Happy April 15th!!!

Happy April 15th to everyone!!! You might be asking is today a holiday or something? Well to anyone who has worked or has a spouse who works at a CPA firm, it is. The tax season is almost over!!! I can't actually complain about this year because Val hasn't been too slammed since they just started their new firm. He is still able to get home at a reasonable time but that is only because they just started in January. Last year he came home for like 2 hours between the 14th and the 15th. That is in fact one of the reasons he decided to do his own thing. Who can blame him? I wouldn't want to be at work for 2 solid days either. Anyways that is why April 15th is a good day for us at least. This can also be a friendly reminder to all of those who might have forgotten or have put it off. I do know a good accountant if anyone needs some help. :D I hope everyone has a good April 15th! I know I will. :)

Why Weepest Thou-Simon Dewey

I love holidays if you haven't noticed yet and Easter is one of my favorites. This year it was even more special to me because of Dad's death. I have never had anyone close to me die and I have realized through this trial that I have never really appreciated the Resurrection like I should. I have never doubted that the Savior broke the bands of death and that he took up His body again and that someday I will die and so someday I will be resurrected but the Resurrection is not just for someday, it is a blessing now and it is helping me get through this hard time. Now I can truly say I am thankful for and have a testimony of the Resurrection. I don't think I would have learned this lesson without experiencing Dad's death. I am so thankful for the Savior and I know He lives! Because He does I will too and so will my Dad! That is why I love Easter! So I hope everyone had a good one!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone! I love St. Patrick's Day and anything Irish for that matter. I'm probable 1/64 Irish or something. So this is my day. I don't know why but I love it so I like to go all out. This morning I made Addy a trail of coins that led to some Lucky Charms for breakfast and at the bottom of the stairs I hung streamers so she could walk through a rainbow to find her treasure. It was fun and she loved it. Then the cousins came over and we had a green lunch.

Anyways like I said I love anything Irish so here is one of my favorite Irish blessings. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Happy St.Patrick's Day to all of you Irish folk or wannabes like me!

My accident at the park

I wanted to share this story because it is funny even though most of you have already heard it. On Tuesday I took my kids and my niece and nephew to the park which is, I have to say brave of me, because I tend to get a little overwhelmed so I was a kind of nervous. Everything went well though they all played nice. We went on the swings and down the slides and even fed the ducks. Nobody attempted to run away, and there were no fits and most importantly there were no injuries, well almost. Ellie decided she wanted to go down the big slide so she started up the stairs and I thought, she is doing good. she was just crawling and was heading right to the slide. Then I realized she had to crawl past a point with two drop offs and I couldn't be on both sides at once and I got nervous and then she started going up the last set of stairs and she decided to stop right there and sit down and that made me really nervous. I decided I needed to get up there and save her life so I took off running and made it about half way up the stairs and then splat I am on the ground with my elbow skinned and my hip and pride bruised. It was quite embarrassing and to make matter worse I was carrying Kellsie in a pack, so I am sure I looked pretty silly. Ellie meanwhile sat patiently on the stairs and waited for me so we could all go down the slide together. So that is my story, all and all it was a good day at the park. I suppose if anyone had to get hurt I am glad it was me.

Let's try this again

So after creating a blog over 2 years ago and then never doing anything with it I have decided to try it again. After my Dad's death 2 weeks ago I have just had a strong desire to stay in better contact with my loved ones. Life goes by way too fast and I don't want to miss out on what is happening with the people I love and I thought updating my blog would be one way to do it. Sorry I am not that great at this kind of stuff so if anyone is reading this you will just have to keeping checking back until I get my blog all figured out and can make it cute and interesting.
